On October 4, 2019, the Center for Urban and Regional Studies (CURS) hosted researchers from across The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill at its annual Faculty Fellows luncheon. Faculty Fellows representing seven academic departments and the School of Government were joined at the event by representatives from the Vice Chancellor’s Office, the Dean’s Office, the Center for Community Capital, the Community Histories Workshop and other special guests.
CURS Interim Director Nichola Lowe welcomed guests and spoke about the goals and the high quality research that have been supported by the Center staff. As is the luncheon’s tradition, each guest then took the floor to give quick summaries of their current research. Following the guest speakers, CURS Associate Director Todd Owen wrapped up the event with a drawing for $500 in research support for Faculty Fellows, which went to Colin Thor West, associate professor of anthropology.
