In light of the evolving situation related to COVID-19, the Center for Urban and Regional Studies is following the guidelines set by The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Most, if not all, CURS staff will be working remotely starting Monday, March 16, 2020.  They have access to email and campus-based electronic files and systems. Generally speaking, CURS is operating as usual but we may not be at our desks in Hickerson House. If you need to reach us, email is the best option.

During working hours, the doors will remain locked at CURS even if a staff member is on-site. This will allow us to minimize social contact. If you have an upcoming meeting scheduled at Hickerson House, please contact the person you are planning to meet with to reschedule remotely.

If we are currently administering a grant for you and you have questions, please reach out to us. Funders are beginning to put out information for their existing and potential grantees but we anticipate this guidance will evolve as we learn more about the impacts of COVID-19. For instance, the NSF published a Dear Colleague Letter which provides guidance for both submitting proposals and for current grantees.

Please keep in mind that UNC has restricted travel and many conferences are being cancelled. If your event has been cancelled you should seek a refund. Below are a couple of links discussing the travel policy.

Again, if you need to contact us, you can find all staff emails here.
