Jessica Dorrance and Kimberly Manturuk–Co-PIs. The 18 month, 3-city pilot will test product, incentive, outreach, and support innovations for encouraging regular savings patterns. It will also generate important insights about the financial services challenges and opportunities inherent in offering mainstream banking services and building financial capability for under- or poorly-served Latino households. The ultimate goal is to develop a customer acquisition approach that fosters long-term attachment to mainstream financial institutions and products. The scope and scale of these two organizations, particularly when combined, has high promise to make a significant impact on market practices and to inform policy in this arena.
